Our Story…
Aloha, I’m Katie, and I created Lo Barn Bakes while we lived in Chile. With the support of my awesome family and community I launched the project from our town of Lo Barnechea (“Lo Barn”), Santiago. My goal was to offer gluten free options beyond what you could find in the frozen aisle of the grocery store…something fresh and delicious.
I’ve been on this journey since 2009 when I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disorder requiring a strict gluten free diet. Moving around the world since then has taught me to adapt local recipes to inspire rather than limit my baking.
When two of my three boys were diagnosed with Celiac, it was my call to action. No more bread that falls apart or missing out on treats at birthday parties. Gluten free is evolving, and I hope to share it here in our new home of Honolulu!

Yes. Lo Barn Bakes is a 100% gluten free bakery. All of my flours and oats are certified gluten free.
I do use milk, eggs, nuts and sesame in my products, which may be allergens for some.

Because fresh baked gluten free bread is made without preservatives, it is best consumed in the first couple of days. After that, store your bread in the fridge and then toast or microwave to soften, or freeze.
